GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The Grand Rapids Chamber has named Attah Obande as vice president of business and talent development.
In his new role, Obande will oversee the chamber’s talent development, inclusion and business services teams and programs.
“I am eager to put my experiences to practice with the Grand Rapids Chamber,” Attah said. “I look forward to serving the West Michigan business community as we position our members for success and growth.”
Before joining the chamber, Attah worked at SpringGR, an entrepreneur development program. He was born and raised in Nigeria, and he lived in London for four years before moving to Grand Rapids at age 18 to attend Calvin College. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Calvin in graphic design and business administration and master’s degree in business administration from Cornerstone University, according to the Chamber.
“We are thrilled to add Attah’s expertise to our team as we continue to work towards supporting our business community and fostering a thriving and prosperous West Michigan for all,” said Rick Baker, President & CEO of the Grand Rapids Chamber. “Attah’s extensive background in business development and coaching entrepreneurs will be an incredible asset for our programs and how we serve our 2,400 members.”
In addition to his work at the chamber, Obande is also the founder of AGO Design Group, a consulting company. He’s also CEO of iNFable Socks, which describes itself as “a bold and fun, social justice and awareness sock brand that connects the public to various causes with a portion of the proceeds directed to charities to promote social responsibility.”
