In a January press release, the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce announced Michele Boggs has been hired as vice president of economic development.

Boggs will work with chamber leadership and local businesses to develop and lead economic development strategies, according to the release.

“Michele has deep experience in economic development, and a clear vision for how New Braunfels can be successful navigating regional, state and national opportunities and trends,” Chamber President and CEO Jonathan Packer said in the release.

Boggs previously spent over a decade at Greater: SATX, where she most recently served as executive vice president of business development.

While working for the public-private economic development organization, Boggs led business recruitment and business retention and expansion teams to generate job and business growth.

“I am honored and thrilled to be joining the New Braunfels team,” said Boggs in the release. “New Braunfels is in the perfect position to capitalize on the incredible opportunities that lie ahead in the Austin-San Antonio mega region.”

The chamber also announced the promotion of Holly Malish to senior director of economic development. She has served the chamber for over 14 years and contributed to the project that brought Continental’s new manufacturing facility to New Braunfels.

Malish has worked with the New Braunfels Manufacturing Association and the Greater New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation and will work closely with Boggs to implement economic development projects.
