Reports of multiple people trapped in Sandia Peak tram cars overnight in Albuquerque, New Mexico


At least one tram car is stuck due to icy conditions in the area.

Rescue efforts are underway as 20 people have been trapped overnight in tram cars at Sandia Peak Tramway, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, according to ABC News afflliate, KOAT.

At least one tram car is stuck due to icy conditions in the area, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.

Rescue efforts are currently underway as the group has been stuck since Friday night.

Metro Air Support and Bernalillo Sheriff’s Office deputies are at the scene.

According to Michael Donavan, general manager at Sandia Peak Tramway, all 20 people are in good condition, and they have water and blankets on board the tram car.
